Expand the possibilities of your entire massage practice with this uniquely elevated system of working slowly and meaningfully on clients who prefer deeper engagement of tissues. “Deep Tissue” is often associated as an action or technique accompanied by heavy or even painful, downward pressure. This application can be harmful to our clients as well as ourselves by placing unnatural strain on both body and mind. Deep, engaged pressure can be received much more meaningfully by the clients' tissues and nervous system if we approach it with care, communication and a confident body educated in biomechanics. Learn to create power and deep engagement using hands, forearms, elbows and feet in a three-dimensional perspective of leverage and your own core stability. This course will draw on techniques from many modalities including traditional Deep Tissue, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Trigger Point and much more. You will also be able to integrate these leverage concepts into the work you already do! Give your client the sensory relief they crave with deep engagement while also caring for your body and its professional longevity. There are no restrictions to performing this work, any body profile can be utilized to create power and confidence in technique. What you will receive – • A bespoke evaluation for each student on current body mechanics, equipment usage and technique approach. Students will demonstrate their work and receive feedback directly from both their peers and the instructor. • A full-body, flexible protocol for prone, side-lying and supine positions. You will learn to create unique treatment planning on-the-go using client body profile data and verbal client communication preferences. • Communication skills in a collaborative format with your client that reduces extra or meaningless technique while optimizing your physical exertion so that only useful sensations and relief are targeted. • Learn to work less and relax into your body’s power no matter what type of treatment you are performing. • Access to follow up protocol videos and alumni support. • Light snacks and lunch provided. • All equipment and supplies provided on-site.
