Emphasis in this class will be on alignment, use of props, intentional adjustments, compassion, allowing the student’s pose to unfold with guidance but not oppression and cultivating a strong, confident voice in teaching. Traditional knowledge will be shared but more emphasis is placed on evidence-based concepts as they apply to this practice. There is an increasing body of research on the benefits of yoga to draw from and this 220 hour program will establish a foundation that touches on pregnancy, seniors, addiction, and yoga therapy. Yoga philosophy will be woven through out the intensive course.

  • Graduates will have a strong foundation in asana, teaching asana, and clinical applications

  • Confidence in their understanding of anatomy, common presenting conditions and how to recognize and address them

  • A knowledge base in both traditional and EB (evidence based) yoga concepts

  • A spiritual and ethical foundation and understanding of their role as a yoga teacher and lifelong student of yoga

  • Confidence in utilizing yoga as a therapeutic intervention in a clinical setting

  • A parallel relationship to a distinguished yoga lineage

  • Pain and stress management, targeting the nervous and endocrine systems to stimulate healing and a return to wholeness.

  • This approach can be applied to orthopedic as well as systemic conditions

Graduates will be eligible to be listed with the Yoga Alliance directory and have a certificate that can help them on their journey as yoga teachers!
